Welcome back Residents! The 9th Floor team is back with a new playlist just in time for summer! Although the summer weather has been delayed in California this year, we’re getting the vibes going nonetheless and breaking through this June Gloom with a summer vacation update that will transport you around the world and beyond. Check out our itinerary below - don’t worry, we already booked your flights!

Before we leave the States, we'll help familiarize you with some of the stateside artists who will contribute to our vacation playlist. We start off strong with Nashville’s very own Slake Dransky and his latest single “Dopamine,” which has been playing in our cars on repeat with the windows down and sunroof open. North Carolina native hemlocke springs takes us back in time on “sever the blight” with a nostalgia-laced music video. Latto brings us down to Atlanta to visit Cardi B for their remix "Put It On Da Floor Again.” VIC MENSA and Chance The Rapper rep Chicago with their G-Eazy collab, “$WISH” before passing it off to Philly where Lay Bankz turns up the heat with “Na Na Na.” BIIANCO takes us to after-hours warehouse parties in LA with “Money Power Freedom (and a lover)” and “I like to listen to music when I’m sad” to party all night before our flight.

Our first stop is Latin America, where we'll visit with friends old and new! Becky G and Peso Pluma - the first Regional Mexican musical artist to perform at Coachella - serenade us on the breakup song “Chanel.” Venezuelan-born artist _SANTI_ shakes the dancefloor with “perreON," helping us kick off Pride Month in style. KAROL G represents Colombia with “WATATI” from the official soundtrack for the Barbie Movie. Argentinean Bizzarap is back with another explosive collaboration, this time with Dominican-American rapper Arcángel, who shepherds us over to our next region.

Next, we have to make a quick stop in the Caribbean. One of our favorite artists of 2023 is Dominican rapper and songwriter, Tokischa and she hypnotizes on her collaboration with The Martinez Brothers, “KILO,” remixed by LSDXOXO. We’re also keeping a close eye on Shenseea, hailing from Jamaica, who keeps giving us back-to-back hits and lewks. And of course, we’d never forget to stop in Puerto Rico whenever Bad Bunny drops a new song - luckily it’s so often that we’re racking up those miles!

We head east over to Africa for a JPEGMAFIA remix of Zimbabwean-Australian singer-songwriter Tkay Maidza’s song “High Beams.” We can “Get Inspired” by Ghanaian-Australian Genesis Owusu‘s collab with ZHU, keeping the late-night sounds alive on our journey.

Another quick flight north takes us to the Middle East. Saint Levant is our new obsession - born in Jerusalem and raised in Gaza, he serves us smooth bars on “FaceTime” and a fun collab with Mia Khalifa on his video for “Nails,” but the playlist wouldn’t be complete without his guest appearance on Canadian-Lebanese artist Zeina’s remix of “NASTY.” Azzamchik teaches us how to express our love from Uzbekistan with “Blatata.” Finally, Turkish-born-and-raised INJI's “BORED” will ensure you’re anything but.

As we enter Europe, we’ve got a LOT of parties to go to! We'll take you to the raves of Belgium with Amelie Lens and Charlotte de Witte, pumping out techno beats all night long, before taking us on a DJ tour of the continent. We make a quick stop in France with BRÖ’s “Moderne féministe,” before taking the Eurostar to London to check in with our English friends. Jessie Ware brings the party back to life with “Begin Again,” Jorja Smith rocks us back and forth with “Try Me,” and Kylie Minogue dropped the absolute bombshell that is “Padam Padam” (who’s the padam to your padam?)

We love those direct flights out of London Heathrow because our next stop is East Asia! Repping Korea, we have Yaeji with “Done (Let’s Get It)” off her new album With A Hammer. Also from Korea, BLACKPINK’s JISOO graces us with “FLOWER,” the last of the group to release a solo project. A bit further south, Indian-American artist Shreea Kaul works to musically bridge the gap between her South Asian roots and Western upbringing with “Burn It to the Ground.”

As we fly back home, we reflect on how grateful we are for our listeners, our 9th Floor family, and for all the artists around the world who keep art alive. Check out some of the home videos we shot on our trip below and make sure to send us some feedback on the full playlist! Don’t forget to check out the full list on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube.
