We were gone for a minute but now we're back on the 9th Floor giving you some new music or the not-so-old music you missed during your extraordinary adventures walking from room to room in your house during the quarantine. At some point, our musical tastes become so eclectic that there's little to the theme and just a giant buffet of delicious beats, lyrics, and music videos to enjoy. This playlist is that buffet.

If you're looking for something romantic or intimate to do with your Valentine, whether it's your soulmate or just that person staring back at you in the mirror, pour a glass of wine and pig out on a bowl of Goldfish while listening to this month's playlist.

We are always so proud of ourselves for providing you with a great selection. As per usual, you'll find some of our favorites, maybe an artist we represent and a bunch of randos you never heard of. Don't put it on the shuffle because it's been curated especially for you, from top to bottom. You're welcome.

“Come Over (feat. Popcaan)” - Jorja Smith
We're a little surprised we haven't featured this soulful songbird on the 9th Floor Media Playlist before. Jorja Smith is a breath of jazz-tinged air, and this latest single showcases everything we love about her familiar sound. The newest single is a return from her debut album Lost & Found back in June 2018, featuring Vybz Kartel's Gaza Music Empire artist Popcaan, a Jamaican deejay, singer, and songwriter. Check out the dynamic animated music video directed by Amber Grace Johnson.

"Amigo (with Joey Bada$$)" - Lous and The Yakuza
Every aspect of this Congolese-Belgian multi-faceted artist and model is intriguing. Marie-Pierra Kakoma known as Lous and the Yakuza is a majestic work of art from her sound, lyrics, and appearance. The single "Amigo" shifts between a bouquet of French, Kinyarwanda, and Kiswahili languages with the complement of the Jamaican Patois of Joey Bada$$. Experience the visual art piece that is the music video directed by Wendy Morgan. Keep it going, and watch Lous and The Yakuza recently featured on NPR's Tiny Desk.

"Chocolate" - Maluma
For a hot second there, we thought there would be a baby Maluma running around the beaches of Colombia. Fortunately for fans of his music and his love, the big announcement was a new EP titled #7DJ(7 Días en Jamaica) featuring seven new songs and music videos. Of course, Chocolate is one of our favorites. I'm convinced the song is about me. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the delicious music video we were graciously gifted.

"4ÆM" - Grimes
We are entirely convinced that Grimes is literally out of this world, and her music is clear evidence. The music composer, producer, engineer, and singer-songwriter teleports another surrealistic hit from her fifth album Miss Anthropocene. She describes it as an "ethereal chav jam." There's a lyric video out there, but we're more into the music video created for the new videogame Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack.

"Joan of Arc on the Dance Floor" - Aly & AJ
One of our favorite Disney Channel sisterhoods is back, and no, we're not talking about Tia & Tamera. They're great, but Aly & AJ have been missed, and now they're working on recording their first official album in 13 years. In the meantime, Alyson and Amanda Joy Michalka released a compilation titled, We Don't Stop, a chronological collection of singles and EPs released between August 2017 to May 2020. "Joan of Arc on the Dance Floor" is a new addition that closes out the compilation. The music video was filmed with antique cameras to mimic the classic silent-era film, The Passion of Joan of Arc.

"mexico" - ceo@business.net, lentra, Jungle Bobby
Wait. So, this Canadian producer and songwriter known as Lentra sometimes goes by ceo@business.net, and his music is as enticing and ridiculous as his name. Garrett Hartnell brings together 80s synth-pop and 70s funkadelic into a new blended genre of avant-garde party music, if that's his real name. If you need visual proof that he's a lot to take in, watch the music video slash short film for "mexico" featuring Jungle Bobby directed, produced, and edited by Lentra.

"Devil's Advocate" - The Neighborhood
There are few rock bands featured on the 9th Floor Media Playlist, so you know this must be a good one to get into. "Devil's Advocate" is the third single from Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones. The best way to describe how this song makes us feel comes from frontman Jesse Rutherford telling Apple Music the track is "about the voice inside your head that is constantly reminding you of the worst things that could happen as a result of your actions." The music video was co-directed by Adam Baldwin and DP Calvin Reboya.

“Smoosh” - Slake Dransky, AceChristo, Lake Stovall
Of course, we're including another song from Slake Dransky's latest mixtape MID. This particular track is a whole bop featuring a frequent collaborator of Slake’s, Lake Stovall. Originally from Virginia, Stovall moved to California to continue his work as an artist, engineer, and producer, where he's worked with Slake several times on few tracks.

"LONELY MACHINES" - 3OH!3, 100 gecs
Your house party wasn't live if there wasn't at least one 3OH!3 song on the playlist. Our favorite duo from Colorado is back after years away, and this time in collaboration with another popular duo with a pocket full of bangers, 100 gecs. Peep the wild music video directed and produced by Weston Allen that reminds you of all the silly sh*t that 3OH!3 music brings to the dancefloor.

“Lo Vas A Olvidar (with ROSALÍA)” - Billie Eilish
This is the song we didn't ask for but definitely created in a fever dream. We already have Billie Eilish heavy on the rotation on 9th Floor Media playlists. We have a special treat this time because she is joined by the equally hauntingly beautiful voice of Spanish singer-songwriter ROSALÍA. The multi-grammy award-winning singers sing a moody duet of heartbreak in Spanish as a featured track for the “Euphoria Special Part 2: Jules" starring Hunter Schafer on HBO Max. Fall into a k-hole with the music video directed by Nabil.

"Best Friend (feat. Doja Cat)" - Saweetie
Are you really going to sit there and pretend that we wouldn't feature this song by real-life besties, Saweetie and Doja Cat? As two hip-hop divas who find their way into the 9th Floor Media playlist at least bi-monthly, we were 100% ready for this song. The third single from Saweetie's debut album Pretty Bitch Music is a "club-ready" banger co-written and produced by the same brilliant minds behind “Tap In.” Study the music video directed by Dave Meyers and live like pretty bitches.

"Higher (feat. iann dior)" - Clean Bandit
Take us back to the days of bouncing around on Coachella Valley polo fields while Clean Bandit blares in the background. The British electronic music group Grace Chatto and the Patterson brothers mix classical and dance music with some of the best features around, including Marina, Jess Glynne, Zara Larsson, Ellie Goulding more. Higher is their newest single featuring Puerto-Rican-American rapper, singer, and songwriter iann dior.

"I'm Fine" - Deemie, This Is Tess
Here's another one from a friend of the 9th Floor, LA-based DJ and producer Deemie. He pulls a lot of his inspiration from his love of surfing, skateboarding, and growing up in a household surrounded by Arab culture and music. We enjoyed his other singles, "All I Need," "Crazy," and the remix "Middle of the 'Night" by Loby. We would obviously include this new one featuring Minnesota-native, the multi-talented singer-songwriter, and actress, This Is Tess. Bravo, Deemie!

"Is It Just Me? (feat. Charlie Puth)" - Sasha Sloan
Who is Sasha Sloan? This Russian-American singer-songwriter knows how to put together a great lyric. The song is a reminder of how sweet human connection can be, especially in a time of isolation with the events of 2020. Joining her is the pop phenomenon, Charlie Puth, who came a long way since his days of YouTube covers. The duet encapsulated a vulnerable and intimate connection between two people, and we're excited we have front row seats to the affair.

Look out for more from 9th Floor Media!
